# EDBB DDoS protection overview

> EDBB shields its infrastructure against DDoS attacks; learn what is covered and when null-routing may occur.

EDBB uses the shared infrastructure protection provided by the EDIS Global resource pool. Protection focuses on limiting the effect of attacks on the network and other customers; EDBB does not provide service-specific DDoS scrubbing or bespoke mitigation.

## During an attack

The infrastructure detects abnormal traffic and may filter or redirect it. If necessary, the attacked IP can be null-routed to protect the rest of the network. Null-routing makes the affected service unreachable; it is not a guarantee that your application stays online.
