# VAT on EDBB invoices

> See when VAT is added to EDBB invoices for customers in Cyprus, elsewhere in the EU or outside the EU, and how a valid business VAT ID affects billing.

EDBB is operated by **ED Backbone & Co**, a legal partnership in Cyprus. Website prices are shown in EUR **excl. VAT**. Any applicable VAT is added in the shopping cart and shown on your invoice.

## When is VAT added?

| Customer | VAT treatment |
| ------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Private or business customer in Cyprus | Cyprus VAT applies. A Cyprus business VAT ID does not remove local VAT. |
| Private customer elsewhere in the EU | VAT is charged at the rate applicable in the customer's country. |
| Business elsewhere in the EU without a valid EU VAT ID | VAT is added based on the billing country. |
| Business elsewhere in the EU with a valid EU VAT ID | EDBB does not add VAT; the reverse-charge rules apply. |
| Customer outside the EU VAT area | EDBB does not add EU VAT to the invoice. |

Special territories can have different VAT treatment from the country they belong to. Check that the billing location and tax treatment shown in checkout match your circumstances.

## Using a business VAT ID

Enter your correct company name, billing address and EU VAT ID before ordering. The VAT ID must be valid and verified for the relevant business treatment to apply. The exemption for a business in another EU country does not apply to a Cyprus-based business buying from EDBB.

Reverse charge does not necessarily mean your business has no VAT reporting obligations. Your accountant can advise on reporting and any deduction available to you.

## If the VAT looks wrong

Contact [support@edbb.com](mailto:support@edbb.com) with the invoice number and the details that need correction, preferably before payment. Use your actual billing location; do not change the country to obtain a different tax result.

See [download an invoice](/faq/billing-lifecycle/find-and-download-invoices) and [EDBB legal information](https://www.edbb.com/legal).
