# Cancel a PayPal subscription

> Stop automatic PayPal payments for EDBB, check the subscription status and understand why cancelling a payment agreement does not cancel your VPS.

A PayPal subscription can continue sending payments until you cancel it in PayPal. Check for an active subscription when you cancel a VPS or change how you pay.

  Cancelling a PayPal payment agreement does **not** cancel your VPS or remove an unpaid invoice. If you no longer need the service, also [cancel it in EDBB](/faq/billing-lifecycle/cancel-a-service).

## Stop automatic payments

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in to PayPal">
    Open [paypal.com](https://www.paypal.com/) and sign in to the account used for your EDBB payments.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find automatic payments">
    Open **Settings → Payments**, then **Subscriptions and saved businesses** or **Automatic Payments**. The label may vary by account and country.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the correct payment agreement">
    Match the merchant and payment details against a previous EDBB payment. If you have several agreements, check which service each one covers before cancelling it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Cancel and check the status">
    Open the agreement, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Check that it is no longer active and keep the confirmation.

## Check your EDBB invoices

Sign in to the [EDBB Control Panel](https://my.edbb.com/clientarea.php) and check whether any invoice is still unpaid. If you are keeping the VPS, pay by another supported method before its due date.

Cancelling the agreement does not reverse a completed payment. For an unexpected payment, contact [support@edbb.com](mailto:support@edbb.com) with the PayPal transaction ID and EDBB invoice number.
